Payload refers to the amount of weight your campervan can carry. This includes passengers, pets, sports equipment, belongings, appliances, etc...

Note that many times campervan manufacturers increase the overall height of the vehicle (10-30cm) by adding skylights, fans, pop-top, solar panels, air conditioner, etc.
